Hunters of the Plains Mandella
From the buffalo came food, clothing and many items used in every day living. The buffalo was life itself to the Plains Indians. This mandella honors the hunter and the hunted, the American Indian and the American Buffalo. This mandella is hand painted on pale turquoise colored leather and measures approximately 19 x 30 inches. The 15 inch hoop is wrapped with doe skin and the many dangles are doe skin and turquoise colored leather. Buffalo wool, wild turkey feathers, maroon glass beads and a variety of metal beads and cones adorn the piece.
