Black War Bonnet Society Rib Rattle

Black War Bonnet Society Rib Rattle

In the traditional Lakota culture, black came from the west and meant danger and death. The Black War Bonnet warrior was the fiercest. He was feared by ALL, no one crossed his path. Putting a black design on a shield, rattle or buffalo robe held back death. It meant invulnerability....This buffalo rib features hand-painted lines, brass spots, brass hawk bells, leather wrap and fringe, trade cloth, glass and metal beads and two hand-painted feathers. Approximately 22 inches long. The rib rattle is signed by ThreeFeathers.
